His debut album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans , was released in late 2010 through Atlantic Records and debuted at number three on Billboard 200. Until today, the album has sold more than 886,700 copies and has been certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America in the US. It has been certificated with gold and platinum certificates worldwide. The album has become one of the most successful albums of 2010 worldwide. It spawned the hit singles "Just the Way You Are", "Grenade" and "The Lazy Song". Hernandez has received several nominations at the Billboard Music Awards; among these are Top Hot 100 Song, Top Pop Song and Top Streaming Song (Audio) for "Just The Way You Are", Top New Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist and Top Male Artist for "Himself". His work has also been recognized at the 2011 Grammy Awards, with the nomination for Record of the Year and Song of The Year for "Fuck You" produced by his team "The Smeezingtons", and "Just The Way You Are" receiving the award of Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
